About Time Calculator

How the service works

Built as a transparent checking tool

TimeCalculate is designed for practical questions: how long a shift lasted, what several duties total, and when repeating rotas overlap. The calculations use minutes as the base unit, with explicit handling for overnight finishes, unpaid breaks and repeating cycles.

Privacy by design

Ordinary calculations and rota-image recognition run in the browser. A user can review and correct detected values before using them. No account is required, and saved calculator state stays on the device unless the user deliberately creates and sends a comparison link.

Accuracy through visible working

Results are shown in readable hours and minutes as well as decimal form. Shift rows, cycle blocks and exact shared windows remain visible so a user can compare the answer with the source rota rather than trusting an unexplained total.

Free access

The general calculators are intended to remain free and are funded by advertising. Ad placement is kept separate from calculator controls, while the sensitive Friends & Family comparison page remains advert-free.

What TimeCalculate cannot decide

The site performs arithmetic from user-supplied values. It cannot know an employer's rounding policy, whether a break is paid, which premiums apply, or whether a published rota contains last-minute duties, training or leave. Users should check official records before making payroll, legal, financial or operational decisions.

Corrections and accessibility

Clear reports are welcome through the Contact page. A useful report names the page, the values entered, the result shown and the result expected. Rota images or personal employment information should not be sent by email.
